Power Flushing is a process used to cleanse your heating system of sludge and corrosion deposits, built up over many years.
Why should I power-flush my heating boiler and central heating system?
Over its lifetime your system will suffer a build up of interior contamination. You will need to flush the boiler and central heating system to remove this contamination build up and help to restore normal heating efficiency. You can employ a powerflush service to remove this sludge and revitalise your gas fired boiler and system.
Irregardless on the type of gas fired boiler and central heating system you have it can be subject to this problem, the main influence is the passage of time and hence the older your boiler and system the more likely it is to have this problem. You do not want to replace and update your boiler with the latest model without commissioning a power-flush first. Fitting new components will inevitably disturb the sludge causing it to circulate through the boiler and system once more.
The advantages of a power-flush
The following are some of the problems that could be avoided with a power-flush as it removes the deposits from your heating system : -
* colder regions on one or several radiators
* boiler deposits accumulation
* circulation problems with your water pump
* clogging pipework
* corrosion of the gas boiler and system internals
* blockages of pipework and other central heating system components
* knocks and bangs emanating from the central heating system
If you do suffer from any of these, the benefits of a power-flush could be :-
* extended heating pump life as contaminants are removed from the circulating water
* curing central heating radiator cold patches so that the full surface of the central heating radiator heats your room
* enhanced heating efficiency resulting in reduced heating bills
* clearing the boiler heat exchanger to stop knocking noises and extending the gas boiler life
* reduction in in hydrogen gas collection reducing corrosion
How Kelco Services Power Flush an Existing Central Heating System
The central heating pump is removed and the flushing unit, containing its own powerful pump, connected between the pump valves. We add a cleaning solution and flush through the system at high velocity, but low pressure. Kelco's trained engineer will then top up the system by adding a corrosion inhibitor to protect it in future years. A power-flush will be finished by our trained engineers to see to it that it is completed correctly and does not create a mess.
A thorough system clean takes 3-4 hours from set-up to completion. |
